– Ried Spiegeln –

The vineyard site Ried Spiegeln was first documented in 1570, and is situated above Ried Tatschler at an elevation of 250–295m.
A small site, Ried Spiegeln – only 3.45 hectares – is exposed to the southeast and is somewhat remote from the village of Grosshöflein, accessible only via winding forest trails.

Protected by the woodlands of the Leitha Range, only the smallest parcels have ever been cultivated here, which due to the steep incline could only be worked by means of arduous manual labour. Here we have highly schistous soils with moderate limestone content. In 2018, the Kollwentz family acquired two parcels in Ried Spiegeln and immediately began to cultivate and prepare them. In the spring of 2019, Ried Spiegeln will be planted with Chardonnay vines as Stockkultur.
