Blaufränkisch is Burgenland’s traditional red grape variety. On the southerly site of Ried Point, first mentioned in 1570, it ripens to maximum quality on calcareous loamy soils. Being older than 30 years, these Blaufränkisch vines only yield small quantities of a fine and concentrated wine. This special Blaufränkisch of our estate fascinates by its wonderful blackberry fruit and intense spiciness. It is a delicious companion to pâtés and meat dishes. Younger vintages should be opened or decanted a few hours before drinking.
