– The art of wine in the purest form –
Our own vineyards, our own grapes, our own wine.
The Kollwentz family cultivates the art of wine production and its philosophies in their purest form: our own vineyards, our own grapes, our own wine. We tend and care for 25 hectares of vineyard. Cultivation of the soil and management of the greencover are the twin cornerstones upon which balanced vine-growth is built. Intensive work with the vines – all done by hand – is the key to quality. Only fully ripened and healthy grapes are selectively harvested by hand.
We use no botryicides, no insecticides and no herbicides. There is no ‘orange wine’ at the Kollwentz Estate and there are no amphoras. No oak chips are used, and no tannins are added. All white wines, all red wines and all sweet wines are matured in oak casks, for between six to thirty months.
