– Ried Dürr –
The single vineyard Dürr was first mentioned in documents in 1526. It is located at 280 to 295 meters altitude, south of the single vineyard Gloria. The stony soil, which is extremely rich in limestone, and the southern exposure of the slope present an ideal terroir for growing Pinot Noir (Blauer Burgunder). The altitude of this vineyard and the cool woods surrounding it lend themselves to an extended growing period, allowing the fruit to ripen slowly while developing intense aromas and flavors. Because of the calcareous soil, the berries remain small and with a perfect juice to skin ratio add up to a vigorous, yet elegant Pinot Noir.
Because it’s not only the inner values that count.
