1969 is absolutely regarded as a monumental vintage—in this year we harvested the most sweet wine in living memory—which was not necessarily an advantage for the red wines.
The Blaufränkisch is resistant to noble rot; however there was a significant proportion of botrytis-berries in this Spätlese. Despite this interesting and spicy, even though the fruit and the tannin of the Blaufränkish showed a bit subdued. Nicely matured…
