Gault Millau 2009
Press
Good news! During the last eighteen months Andi Kollwentz was rather successful in buying and leasing good vineyard sites on the Leithagebirge. He has added many promising Blaufränkisch parcels in the vineyards Ried Setz and Ried Point.
He was also able to expand his holdings in Tatschler. So we can look forward in the future to a greater volume of these sought-after wines from the Römerhof. And the estate’s current collection is nothing short of brilliant.
The cuvée Steinzeiler 2006 is a formidable wine, the best in the Gault-Millau final tasting where it edged out the Kollwentz Cabernet Sauvignon by a nose.
Their pair of Chardonnays Tatschler and Gloria, with their minerality, finesse and length, show once more among the best Chardonnays in Austria. And the Sauvignon Blanc Steinmühle is a marquee example of a full-throttle power Sauvignon.
