With the Leitha Mountains, Burgenland has a burgundy terroir par excellence: limy soils, where Chardonnay feels at home.
It hardly suprised, that the wines of Andi Kollwentz would perform well. More surprising is it, that Chardonnay has been here for over 140 years. In general, Burgenland is particularly interesting for Chardonnay, because it can reach the necessary ripeness here well. The taste of caramel in many wines disappears with adequate ventilation.
