The Burgundertrophy (Pinot Family Trophy) 2009, the most important barometer for white wines of Burgenland, put the regional Pinot family wines under the microscope in recent weeks.
And now the results are known: in the category with the greatest number of entries, classic élevage Chardonnay, Kollwentz’s Chardonnay Leithagebirge 2008 took first place.
In the category of prestigious Chardonnays vinified in small oak, the Tatschler 2007 made the trip up the stairs to the podium, and among matured wines in the Reserve category, another Chardonnay from the Kollwentz Estate proved unbeatable: first place for ‘Tatschler 1999’!
