The Kollwentz Estate in Großhöflein is situated on the southern slope of the Leitha Range, where paterfamilias Anton Kollwentz figures as Burgenland’s original pioneer.
With his propensity for perfection, Anton Kollwentz made his mark on viticulture throughout this Austrian federal state. His son Andi is the decathlete among the nation’s growers; he is regarded as a master in the most widely varied events, and can be found at the top of the field in every category.
Along with the meticulous viticultural work, the successes of the Kollwentz family are firmly grounded in their 23 hectares of vineyard holdings. Their sites on the southern slope of the Leitha Range – sonorous names like Steinzeiler, Tatschler, Dürr, Katerstein, Gloria, Point and Setz – figure among the oldest and finest in the land.
